Saltimbanco Cirque du Soleil
Jesse found out that Cirque was going to be in Kansas City and purchased tickets for the show at the beginning of this year. We've always seem them perform in Vegas, but had yet to see a "traveling" show. Unfortunately tickets were around the same price, but we knew it would probably be worth it.
Somehow we always end up in the front row and this time was no exception. We were dead center. It's good in one regard because it seems more intimate and in your face. The downside is that Cirque shows always have so much going on that it's hard to take it all in when you're sitting so close. We, of course, were roped into the opening act of the show. Luckily this performance didn't include me in a chastity belt. It only involved our seats being stolen by the performers.
This other poor guy was not so lucky. He ended up on stage for about 15 minutes playing with imaginary items. He was a trooper though!
My favorite acts were the strong men who balance each other in crazy positions and the twin girls who did the ropes and swings. All in all it was a great performance and I would recommend it.
My favorites shows would still have to be Zumanity & Mystere.
